FCI Construction in Auburn, Indiana, is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their team.
Position Summary
The Financial Controller will oversee all financial activities, including cash management, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and compliance. This role is responsible for analyzing financial performance, implementing process improvements, and safeguarding company assets through strong internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Manage:
• Oversee financial operations, including general ledger, cash flow, AP/AR, and banking relationships.
• Monitor cash flow and forecast requirements to maintain a positive cash position.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payables and receivables, including lien waiver compliance.
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams using a servant-leadership approach.
Analyze:
• Prepare and interpret financial statements and performance reports to identify trends and profitability.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including WIP reporting and job cost reviews.
• Develop annual budgets and conduct variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
• Implement process improvements and leverage technology for efficiency.
• Establish and track KPIs for financial health and operational efficiency.
Control:
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and contractual obligations.
• Monitor risk through internal controls, expense reporting, and subcontractor compliance.
• Maintain system integrity and accurate general ledger reconciliations.
• Support internal and external audits with timely documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
• 7+ years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and construction billing practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Viewpoint preferred) and Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
