This has been a very long and exhausting recovery. I have developed severe post operative gastroperesis, which is where your stomach loses motility and you cannot digest food. My body started rejecting food, and now this is my fourth time having to have my mom bring me back 3 hours to Indiana University Medical. Not only that, I still need surgery for a cataract removal and a corneal transplant, which is terrifying enough as i lost my left eye due to a surgeon's negligence. I will be having gastric electrical stimulation surgery in hopes it will help with GI motility and gastroperesis surgery once i'm more stable, and last but not least, kidney failure wrecks your parathroid, which regulates your body's calcium, and mine have destroyed my teeth. I'm getting set up with a dental surgeon and prosthedontist to find out if implants will be an option. Either way, it's rough. It feels like one thing after another. This recovery period is going to be wild. I truly apologize for sharing this so much, but this has only been scratching the surface.
it's almost $100 for each trip there and back, and once i'm stable enough to go home, I have two to three clinicals here at the Transplant Center every week, and one or two of those days we will need a hotel room. This is getting very expensive and i'm overwhelmed and overstimulated. I do have an offer for a remote job once i'm home and settled, so I promise i'm doing my part, as well. It's just a little difficult at the moment, being hospitalized for a fourth time. We could use all the help we can get, as this is just getting increasingly more difficult and i'm running out of ideas. If you can't donate, please give this a share, to get it out there. I cannot thank you guys enough for all of the help, support, love, and kind words all of you have given me. I'm grateful for all of you. 🖤
