I'm looking for someone to work on a few robotics projects.
1) Programming an autonomous drone with Mission Planner. Calibrate the hardware, fly some paths around here, capture some images.
2) Similar project but on wheels. The robot is basically a Roomba, it basically works, but it needs some tuning to make the mapping and motion stable. It currently uses 2D lidar like a Roomba and I'd like that to be upgraded to 3D. It uses ROS2 and NAV2. Mostly Python and some Arduino C++.
This is a hybrid in person/remote position. First couple days are in person to collect and brief on the hardware. Then you can take it home if that works better for you.
Please specifically mention that you understand the in-person component and that you are able to be here in person in New Haven at the start/end/periodically throughout the project for demos.
Please describe your experience with these types of projects and what you think you can achieve in some time frame.
It's expected that you will not rely solely on AI. You can use AI to assist you, but you should be able to get pretty far without AI. I will interview you in person, without AI.
If you're really into this stuff I'd definitely consider a partnership.
